Whether it's your significant other, family, or someone close to you. Wear red in memory of someone you have lost to heart disease.
As you plan out your special evening with your partner for Valentines day, perhaps take the initiative and dress in red for the special occasion. Why wear red? To simply spread awareness of Heart Disease and research in order to find the cure as soon as possible.
While typically on February 1st (today!) in the United States, Heart Research Australia has decided to push the exceptional initiative down the calendar to coincide with Valentines day.
Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in Australia today, with one Australian dying from the illness every 27 minutes. Smoking, diet, and your fitness level are all major factors into the risk of attaining heart related problems over time. All of which can be lessened through:
- Healthy eating
- Regular exercise
- Being mentally optimistic
With research happening as you read this, perhaps this is your chance to show your support by dressing up in red for Valentines day. You're more than likely to wear the color anyway, why not do it for a special and important cause? For more information on National Wear Red Day and Heart Disease, head on over here to find out more: http://www.heartresearch.com.au/wrd/
